FAQ

Questions we are asked often.

If your question is not answered here, ask us directly. We would rather you knew than guessed.

How do I start a matter with Ndoro Chambers?

Call the firm, or send us a short summary of your matter by email. The details are on the contact page. We will come back to you to arrange a consultation, confirm whether we can act, and set out what the next steps look like.

What does an initial consultation cost?

We agree the basis of our fees with you before any work begins, including what the initial consultation will cost. You will never receive an invoice for work you did not know was being done.

How are your fees structured?

Depending on the matter, we work on an hourly rate, a fixed fee, or a tariff-based fee where one applies. Conveyancing, for example, follows the prescribed conveyancing tariff. We provide a written fee estimate up front and flag it with you if the scope changes.

Are you regulated?

Yes. Ndoro Chambers is regulated by the Law Society of Zimbabwe and all our legal practitioners are registered and hold current practising certificates. We maintain a trust account operated in accordance with the applicable rules.

How long does a property transfer take?

A straightforward transfer typically runs six to twelve weeks from signature, depending on rates clearance, capital gains tax clearance and Deeds Office turnaround. We tell you at the outset what the realistic timeline is for your specific transaction and keep you updated at each stage.

Can you act for me if I am outside Zimbabwe?

Yes. We act for clients based abroad on property, estate and commercial matters, and we can arrange for documents to be executed and authenticated for use across borders.

Do you take urgent matters?

We do. Bail applications, urgent interdicts and other time-critical matters are handled on an urgent basis. Call us rather than emailing if the matter cannot wait.

Is my information confidential?

Everything you tell us is protected by legal professional privilege and by our own duty of confidentiality. Our internal systems are built so that client information and client funds are handled to the standards the profession requires.

Still have a question?

Send it through. You will get a straight answer from someone who has handled the matter before.
